Without a doubt, the original Aliph Jawbone is the best Bluetooth headset that I have ever used, so naturally I’m pretty stoked about the second-generation model. The new Jawbone 2 (unofficial name) recently went through its paces the almighty FCC, getting that stamp of approval that all new gadgets need before going on sale in the United States.

The new version appears to be slimmer than its predecessor and you’ll also notice that the backside is now completely covered in a textured surface, rather than having it broken up by an LED light and a button near the top. You’ve got to wonder where Aliph has placed the controls for the second-gen model. Oh, and although the earclip is not in the picture, Aliph says that this Jawbone still has one.

No word on pricing or availability, of course, but seeing how it’s passed the FCC test, we’ll probably be hearing more about the Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth headset soon enough.
