We’ve seen our fair share of luxury cell phones in our day. It’s not out of the ordinary to see a regular old phone get all dressed up with platinum, gold, diamonds, and Swarovski crystals. Tag Heuer is taking a slightly different and less eco-friendly appoach with their high-end cell phone, outfitting the back side with crocodile skin. I can just see the PETA protesters now.

The Tag Heuer Meridist seems like a decent phone from the front, boasting a metallic keypad and what appears to be great build quality, but I’m totally not digging the crocodile back. I’ve never been much of a fan of using crocodile skin, but maybe that’s just me.

As you’d suspect, the feature set on the Tag Heuer Meredist leaves much to be desired, just like most other luxury phones that you find on the market. The $7,000 handset gets a 2 megapixel camera, 1.9-inch QVGA display, and Bluetooth. There’s mention of secondary OLED display, but I can’t see where that is.
