As you can probably imagine, there aren’t that many surprises when you start to take the Eye-Fi wireless SD card apart, but that didn’t stop a few Curious Georges from sneaking a peek. The good folks at Ikontools decided to pry the little memory card apart and they found exactly what you’d expect.

The NAND flash memory module comes courtesy of Samsung, whereas the integrated Wi-Fi module was provided by Atheros. More specifically, it’s the 802.11b/g AR6001GL radio on a chip. It’s not the most exciting dissection, but at least we now know that the Eye-Fi card comes with the backing of Sammy and Atheros.

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle. Go Joe!
