Earlier today, we told you about the new $99 Unlimited Plan from Sprint and how it trumps similar plans offered by T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T. As it turns out the unlimited-ness of the new Sprint $99 plan isn’t so unlimited after all, because Helio’s plan — for the same price — offers even more.

We were given the impression that Sprint’s new offering would give customers limitless voice, text messages, premium services, and data. Most of this is true, but the unlimited data is truly unlimited, because Sprint is only opening the window for unlimited mobile browser. That’s WAP, folks, and not the “real” Internet. Looking even further, you’ll notice that the Sprint plan lacks MMS, IM, YouTube integration, and real GPS Google Maps.

So, where is the heavy user supposed to turn for all these other extras? Ironically, it’s Helio, an MVNO that operates on the Sprint network! As you can tell from the chart below, the only advantage that Sprint has over Helio is Push-to-talk (PTT). Go figure.
