The 2008 Geneva Motor Show is right around the corner and one of the more anticipated launches at that event is the Saab 9-1X concept. We already knew that this car was going to make its official debut in Geneva, but it’s nice to get some sort of official confirmation from General Motors. This news comes courtesy of the automaker’s media site, treating us to teaser silhouette picture.

As you can tell, the Saab 9-1X borrows much of its styling cues from its stablemates, like the Aero-X concept and other pre-existing models. The head on shot reveals some rather aggressive-looking headlights and a fairly wide stance. We can’t tell for sure, but we’re assuming that it’s got a “sloping rear roofline” that leads into a “bulbous back end.”

Set to compete against the Audi A3 and Volvo C30, the Saab 9-1X could prove to be quite a formidable mid-range hatchback. Here’s looking forward to Geneva.
