I think that most of us are all too familiar with the four-letter monikers coming out of the Motorola camp. From the RAZR to the KRZR, we’ve been bombarded by an endless supply of capital letters. The ROKR line hasn’t done quite as well for Moto as they had wanted, but with the innovative controls behind their latest creations, they hope that it’ll be a little more successful.
The Motorola ROKR E8 was on display at CES, but we didn’t know which American provider was going to pick up this candybar with a semi-touchwheel. Turns out that it’s going to be T-Mobile. The musically-inclined among their fold should have a little reason to celebrate, because this handset comes with a pretty decent set of features.
You get things like 2GB of internal memory, Bluetooth A2DP, 3.5mm audio port, full HTML browser, Real Audio v10 Microsoft music ecosystem, and an integrated media player. The haptic touchpad design is what will definitely grab your attention, but the FastScroll touch-sensitive navigation wheel and ModeShift lighting are pretty cool too. No word on pricing.
