Sony Ericsson has phones to suit all sorts of preferences, but it’s obvious enough that the W890i Walkman phone was designed from the ground-up for people who are particular inclined toward music. That’s the final word coming out a recent review of the handset conducted by the folks at TestFreaks, computing an average score of 8.2 out of 10.
On the plus side, they enjoyed the high-speed HSDPA connection, as well as the Walkman music player and TrackID music recognition. The metal finish and the slim profile are also big advantages. The 3.2 megapixel camera demonstrates that the W890i can do more than just music, with things like Bluetooth, USB, Java, EDGE, and 9.5 hours of talk time rounding out the positives.
Naturally, there are cons too. As there is only 26MB of built-in memory, you’ll be needing a memory card right from the get-go if you plan on listening to any music at all. This is a little quirky, considering the tune-filled tendencies of this handset. Other things that TechFreaks mention are a lack of focus and autofocus for the camera, only 15fps for video, and the missing Walkman player skins.
