It’s probably wrong for me to draw comparisons between the Nokia Prism and the W61PT from Pantech, because the only real thing that the two phones have in common is that they both seem to have a knack of diamond-shaped front faces. The Pantech W61PT will soon be launched by KDDI in Japan as part of the mobile operator’s spring collection.

Clearly, the slider phone has been designed with fashion as its primary selling point. Available in pin, white, or black, the Pantech W61PT comes with diamond-shaped keys accompanied by a shiny diamond-shaped metal piece in the center. The numeric keypad looks pretty standard by comparison.

In terms of features, you get the basics like a 2 megapixel autofocus camera, integrated media player, microSD memory card slot, and a 2.4-inch QVGA display. No word on price, but we hear that the people of Tokyo will have the ability to buy this Korean phone some time next month.
