When it comes to packing some extra capacity for your Apple computer, the choice is clear. Or rather, the enclosure is clear on the newest additions to the Mercury-On-The-Go Portable Storage Solution line from Other World Computing (OWC).

The external hard drives are available with up to 320 gigabytes of space crammed into a 2.5-inch platter that spins at 5400rpm. This is 28% more than the previous OWC Mercury-On-The-Go offering. It’s cool enough that it’s palm-sized, but the clear casing and funky blue lights make this a very viable option for extra Macbook storage.

Connectivity is an absolute dream as well, because in addition to the usual USB connection, the Mercury-On-The-Go drive can handle FireWire 400 and 800, as well as eSATA. Handling large photo and video files couldn’t be easier. PC users can get in the mix with this drive too. Prices range from $250 to $300.
