It’s always nice when you get to add another trophy to the mantleplace and that’s exactly what AVerMedia Technologies Inc. has done with their AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress. Granted, the product doesn’t have the most memorable of names, but I’d have to say that it deserves the Design & Engineering Showcase Award that the CES people unleashed upon it.

In a nutshell, the AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress is a portable TV tuner that plugs into an available ExpressCard slot on your laptop, granting you access to free ATSC high-definition TV content. What makes it cool is that absolutely nothing sticks out from your ExpressCard slot, making it one of the most seamless creations to date. The only connection you need is with a wire to the provided HD antenna.

Naturally, with a small antenna that latches onto your computer screen, the signal reception wasn’t the greatest, but it’s not too bad so long as you get close to a window. The AverMedia AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress sells for about $140.
