Getting Upstaged by the Shuang Mian Yi Ren V8

When a cell phone is called something like the Shuang Mian Yi Ren V8, it’s obvious enough that it is made in China. As a result, it becomes safe to assume that the V8 is also a knockoff. And you’d be right.

The Shuang Mian Yi Ren V8 (what a mouthful) is basically a clone of the Samsung F300, also known in some circles as the Samsung Upstage. On one side, you get a slim candybar phone with a small 1.4-inch color display and numeric keypad. On the other side, you get a 2.4-inch color display and an iPod-like navigational wheel. That’s the same side that you’ll see the “Ultra Music” branding.

Rounding out the features are dual-band GSM radios (900/1800), a 2.0 megapixel camera, MP3/MP4 player, and microSD expansion. The Shuang Mian Yi Ren V8 is available now for $130.95.
