We knew that the Asus Eee PC was going to be popular, but no one expected it to become this popular. Sales figures are starting to roll in for the Asus Eee PC and it turns out that Asus has shipped over 350,000 units thus far, outperforming all early estimations.

Asus was hoping to ship about 300,000 Asus Eee PC units by the time 2007 drew to a close, but it’s clear that they have shattered that goal. In fact, if Asus managed to produce more units, they probably would have sold even more. I know that most of my local computer stores are seriously back-ordered for the glossy white (and now black too) wonder.

Do you think the touchscreen mod and/or the available of other models has anything to do with the huge level of interest?
