Jaguar and Land Rover Not Sold Yet

Remember yesterday when we told you that Tata Motors may announce the purchase of Jaguar and Land Rover today? Well, that hasn’t really materialized and Ford maintains that they will make no such announcement until at least early next year (which is really less than two weeks away).

At this time, we know that Tata Motors of India is one of the front-runners for the purchase, possibly being involved in a deal that will see the exchange of about $2 billion USD. This is to buy both the Jaguar and Land Rover nameplates and does not necessarily involve the exchange of any plants, technology, and so on.

Ford is saying that Tata Motors isn’t the only bidder left in the race, however. Two other firms are still in the running and they are Mahindra & Mahindra of India, and One Equity Partners of the United States. The latter is a private equity firm.
