Nikon D3 comes out of the box

What does $5,000 look like? Well it can come in many forms – a big stack of small bills, or a room full of pennies for example. Nikon has a different idea of what $5,000 can look like – the new Nikon D3 camera. $5,000 is what one of these cameras will cost you, so it is clearly not for the casual photographer. After much anticipation among the photo geek set, the camera is just now being shipped. It’s an impressive camera, too – it’s a 12.1 megapixel full frame DSLR with 6400 ISO. It remarkably has 51-point autofocus, as well as two CF slots, and HDMI. You can see what you are shooting on the 3 inch live view LCD. Now, a camera of this type is beyond the needs of most of us and the financial means of most, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t dream. To help in those fantasies, here’s what the camera looks like when you take it out of the box. Heck, even the box looks expensive.
