Sometimes the time between when you order your food in a restaurant and when it arrives can seem like an eternity. When things are going well you can chat with your dinner companions and the time will fly by. Some people just aren’t that interesting to talk to, though. When your friends are boring you, uWink may just have your salvation. The company has has announced a new real-time, multiplayer game platform for restaurants and bars. The first game available on the system is uWink Trivia Live, a multiple choice trivia game. That’s not a unique idea, but it’s a popular one. You play on a tabletop touchscreen terminal, and the game and the results are projected on the walls of the restaurant. Future games for the platform include uWink Scene Investigation, A CSI knockoff, Xingo, which is a mashup of bowling and bingo, and Picture Perfect, a game that forces you to find the differences between two pictures. With all of those choices you may never have to talk to your friends again.
