On Monday, Google announced the Android Google phone operating system. While we are still waiting on some form of GooglePhone hardware, I think we have just caught a glimpse of the first GooglePhone software.

No pictures have been leaked as to how the Google Phone “Android” open software platform will look, but here is a screenshot of what could be the first official GooglePhone application. Designed to work with the new Android platform, Whatsopen seems to take its information from Google Maps, translating it in such a way that it’ll tells you what nearby stores are open. It stands as a web application currently, but there is word that there’s also a wireless app for Android.

I’m inclined to call BS on this though, seeing how the Android SDK isn’t even officially available to developers yet. Where did WhatsOpen get their goods?
