Alan Mullay, CEO of the Ford Motor Company, says that he thinks Mercury is doing well, but we have reason to believe that the blue oval is getting ready to ditch the Mercury brand altogether. This is contrary to Mullay’s earlier remarks about Mercury “absolutely” having a future.

Looking at the company’s product map, there are “almost no future products in the pipeline.” In fact, any projects that they were planning for Mercury have miraculously disappeared from the roadmap, canceling their development outright.

The Mercury brand is already dead in Canada, so it could just be a matter of time before Ford abandons the brand in the United States as well. The current projection shows a death date of 2012.
