Talk about talking on a budget. Motorola has rolled out a pair of nearly identical cell phones — the W156 and W160 — which are clearly targeted at developing markets and other areas where people can’t be expected to break the bank on Swarovski-encrusted mobile phones.

The key to the “affordable device” is that it will provide an extra long battery life, thanks to the fact that it doesn’t even have a color display. Instead, it’s got this monochrome wonder shoved into a SLVR-like thin design. Other features include “crystal clear communications” and an FM radio, both of which can be enjoyed over the speakerphone.

The Motorola W156/W160 is expected to launch later this month. No word on pricing, but it’s got to be cheap.
