I like fancy features. I like having a phone that I can use for mobile blogging. I like having a phone that can take decent pictures, play music, and maintain my schedule. The Nokia 2135 is not for me.

The entry-level cell phone is destined for the North American market and will be squarely targeted at people that want a decent voice-centric mobile without the frills or gimmicks of its more multimedia- or business-oriented brethren. The Nokia 2135 will go with 1xRTT for data, large keys for ease of use, and — most importantly — a low price point.

Interestingly, this cheap CDMA candybar with a tiny color display wasn’t even manufactured by Nokia. The Finnish phonemaker wouldn’t say who was the firm behind the production. Look for the launch by the end of this year.
