On the front of the shirt is an animated display that will indicate the signal strength of a WiFi network in the area. It won’t tell you whether there’s any sort of encryption or whether the Wi-Fi signal is actually connected to the interwebs, but hey, it’s totally geeked out and pretty freaking awesome. It can read both 802.11b and 802.11g-based networks.
If you’re worried about damaging the signal detector the wash, you’ll be happy to hear that the animated decal and battery pack (three AAA batteries) are removable. The ThinkGeek exclusive Wi-Fi detector shirt sells for 30 bucks.
