Sanyo S1 Bar Phone Approved by FCC, Heading to Sprint

Sanyo’s heading back to the candybar form factor with the super thin Sanyo S1, a handset that recently received that all-important stamp of approval from the FCC. Measuring just 11.1mm thick, the Sanyo S1 is easily one of the slimmest phones on the market, but that’s not enough of a selling point anymore. Between the SLVR, Slice, and even the iPhone, skinny is to be expected.

Destined to hit the shelves of Sprint, the Sanyo S1 is decidedly lower end in its specs. Although we don’t have photos — just FCC sketches — we can tell you that this is going to be one cheap ass phone. It’s got Bluetooth, but the docs make no mention of even a camera. We can only hope that the display is color…
