It’s a sign of the times, folks. If you become an Internet celebrity, you’re pretty much a “real” celebrity. Some time back, I saw Tay Zonday (Chocolate Rain) on Jimmy Kimmel for crying out loud. But Tay’s got nothing on this guy.

As you recall, George Hotz was the 17-year-old kid who managed to unlock the Apple iPhone, allowing you to use it with whatever GSM network you desired. Word of this spread like wildfire, spreading so far that even CNBC wanted to get the teenager on their show. So they did. I’d say that for a 17-year-old, he composed himself quite well, but he still acted and looked like a typical 17-year-old. With his hacking ability, however, Hotz is far from typical.
