A Stretcher, Wheelchair, and Stair Climber All in One

I’m not a firefighter. I’m not a paramedic. But I can see how this can make the jobs of those guys a heck of a lot easier. The Caterpillar stretcher unit effectively allows a single EMT to carry a patient up or down a flight of stairs with no trouble at all. This frees up the other paramedic to carry supplies, equipment, or whatever else needs to be attended to.

When you reach the bottom of the stairs, the stretcher can effectively transform into a makeshift wheelchair, making transport to the ambulance easy too. You see, typically you need two personnel to handle a single patient (holding the stretcher at either end). With the Caterpillar, you only need one.
