She’s a super freak, super freak… She’s super-freaky, yow! Vanzero has just announced the latest addition to their portable media playing library, dubbing this device the FREQ. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself with the Rick James reference. Super FREQ!

Okay, now that I’ve got that out of my system, the Vanzero FREQ is said to be “the first media player to have a built-in FM transmitter.” I vaguely remember hearing of other devices with this sort of functionality, but even so, it’s a welcome feature as it allows you to share your music collection with any FM radio in the area. And that’s pretty cool already, even if it’s just FM radio quality.

In addition to sending FM radio outwards, the Vanzero FREQ also has an FM tuner to receive the words of local deejays. Other features include a 2.4-inch screen, a voice recorder, and the MusicMarker song identification system. More information — like capacity — is expected at IFA. We do hear the entry-level unit will sell for $99 when it ships next month though.
