To all the digital SLR freaks in the audience, it’s time to do some rejoicing, because Canon has officially released a whole bevy of details surrounding their latest DLSR offering, the EOS 40D.

Following in the footsteps of the hugely successful 30D which preceded it, the Canon EOS 40D boasts a formidable 10.1 megapixels of high resolution goodness, DIGIC III, up to ISO 3200, Live View LCD, sRAW, 9 point auto-focus, a 3-inch preview LCD, high-speed shooting up to 6.5fps, a self-cleaning sensor, and even a WiFi module for beaming those pictures over without wires.

The body measures 145.5×108x73.5mm and weighs 740 grams, which is 40 grams more than the 30D. Despite announcing all of these hot deets, Canon has yet to make a direct indication regarding pricing or availability.
