Video: iPhone Kinetic Scrolling Mapped to Nokia N800 Internet Tablet

In many ways, you could say that the Nokia N800 and Apple iPhone are similar. They both have huge touchscreens, but one thing that the N800 has lacked, up until now, is that nifty “kinetic scrolling” method found on Apple’s handset. That has all changed thanks to a homebrewing developer who creating a few lines of code in Python.

As you can see in the video below, you can now scroll through your multimedia files on your Nokia N800 similar to how you would on an iPhone. With a flick of your finger, the scrolling will continue with some sense of momentum. It doesn’t appear to be quite as fluid as the mechanism on the Apple, but it’s definitely getting there.

Some sort of official release for the Python code is expected “soon.”
