Samsung i550: Company’s First GPS Cell Phone

If it wasn’t for the Samsung branding underneath the large color display, you’d almost be inclined to think that the i550 was a Sony Ericsson. Like, don’t the numpad keys remind you of the W888 and the K550? At least I think so.

Anyways, the newly leaked Samsung i550 is a Symbian OS S60-based smartphone and it is the first Samsung cell phone to come with an integrated GPS chipset. With such a seemingly huge display (2.6-inch), navigating with turn-by-turn directions should be a breeze. The Samsung i550 also has you covered in the mobile data department with its HSDPA 3.6mbps connection.

The rest of the key features include quick access keys (GPS, music player, web browser), microUSB connectivity, microSD expansion, a standard 3.5mm headset jack, 128MB RAM, and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
