Must-Read FAQ for Amp’d Mobile Customers

I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Amp’d Mobile is “potentially suspending US operations on July 24th.” That’s tomorrow, and they’ve got a FAQ up on their website that will answer many of the questions you may have. For example, they tell you that customer service sill not be available after July 23rd (today), so if you want to get anything done, you best do it today or else you may not have another opportunity to do so.

Yes, you can port your phone number over to another carrier and according to the Q&A page, it is possible for you to take your Amp’d Mobile cell phone over to another CDMA provider, but it’s up to that provider whether they’ll let you use it or not. At this time it is unclear whether Amp’d will be purchased by another carrier, but they are “in discussions with several parties.”
