It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of fighting games. I grew up with hadoukens and “get over here”s, and while the titles available for the Game Boy Advance have been okay, what I’ve really wanted to enjoy was a quality title for the DS. That day may soon be upon us.
In an interview with Ed Boon, IGN discovered that not only will Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 be ported over to the DS, but it will also feature fighting online! From what I can gather, you just hop onto the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection just like you would for Tetris DS or Mario Kart DS, and then you proceed to tear some heads, slash some chests, and shoot glowing green orbs at people on the other side of the planet.
But wait, there’s more. This probably isn’t as big a deal, but Ed Boon also said that they’re going to toss in a version of Puzzle Kombat into the mix as well, cramming it all into the confines of a tiny Nintendo DS cartridge. Good times await us. GET OVER HERE!
