You know that talking on your mobile while driving is a thing of the past, right? The good old days of yakking on the move are gone for good. Several states have banned the practice outright, passing laws that severely punish lawbreakers. We suspect that a nationwide statute of a similar sort will be up for consideration soon.

Even more restrictive is a new device that can automatically detect a mobile phone conversation on the road. The system identifies the offending vehicle, consults its registration information, and creates a traffic citation for delivery to the offending driver by mail.

A few European countries are already employing such a situation, so don’t be surprised if something similar happens in the Western Hemisphere as well.
