On the inside, you’ll find some modern imaging technology that is essentially useless without tethering itself to a computer.

Yup, a hardcore James Bond gadget this most certainly is not. That is, unless you manage to shove a laptop into a similarly shaped ancient leather bound book. Then you can carry around two tomes and scan to your heart’s delight.
