First, let’s get the name out of the way. When asked about the branding, Asus said that Eee stands for “easy to learn, easy to play, easy to work.” Three Es. The Asus Eee PC 701 comes powered by an Intel chipset, your choice of Windows XP or Linux, integrated 802.11b/g WiFi, ethernet, built-in webcam, 512MB RAM, and a flash-based drive stashing between 4GB and 16GB worth of goodness.
I find the $200 starting price a little hard to believe, though, considering that you can’t even get a decently equipped cell phone (before rebates and such) for that price. But hey, who am I to complain?
