A blaring noise and an immediate alert to the alarm company just won’t cut it if you want to protect your home from intruders. You’ll need this USB-powered sentry gun designed by vCrib. He’s still ironing out the kinks, but you can apparently control this machine gun (currently loaded with BBs, though I wouldn’t be surprised if someone created a version with “live” ammunition) from anywhere in the world using an internet connection.

He’s mounted a small webcam on the side of the barrel so that you can even see where the gun is pointing (it’s not automated). A few simple mouse flicks is all you need to pan, tilt, and swivel, and then presumably you do some crazy left-clicking action to get those BBs flying out into your backyard.

Is this home security taken too far or does it just reek of awesomeness?
