Commercialized: Sony Ericsson W880i is Romantic

Ushering in the Sony Ericsson W880i slim candybar phone is the first commercial by the folks at Sony. We get to see a budget-minded couple get together in a secluded area with some greasy burgers, fries, and soda… but where does the Walkman phone come into play?

Well, not only does it provide the romantic musical entertainment that can only be rivaled by Andrea Bocelli, but it’s also got that soft glow not unlike real candlelight. If only the marketing and PR department at Sony were this cute and effective with their PlayStation 3 ad campaign.

I do find it a little ironic, though, that this couple has a fairly expensive W880i yet their idea of a romantic evening is munching on burgers. Go figure.
