Although I’ve never owned a Subaru myself, I’m a fan of the carmaker because of their sporty Imprezas (particularly the STi) evoke a great sense of power in a beautiful all-wheel-drive package. The newly unveiled 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX ditches the pig nose fascia found on the current model, replacing it with a wider, sleeker grille.

Available as a four-door sedan or as a five-door wagon, the new Impreza WRX has a wheelbase that is 3.7-inches longer than its predecessor (103.1-inch). This is supposed to improve the ride quality, interior space, and utility. The new car is also 50 lbs. lighter. Under the hood, you’ll find a 2.5L flat-four Boxer engine developing 224 horsepower and 226 lbs-ft of torque.
