It was only a matter of time.

Wii systems are now being installed on cruise ships. Nintendo received such a positive response from its move to install the wildly popular gaming system in retirement homes that it made the move to more waterborne entertainment.

Norwegian Cruise Line is the beta-tester, with one floating vacation provider already sporting the Wii and the rest of the line due to follow in May. On each ship, the emphasis will be on group participation, with Wii systems being installed in public places alongside giant screens.

No word yet on whether Nintendo is intending to offer medical assistance to the hundreds of seniors who will no doubt sprain something by being so active with the Wii controllers.
