Let’s face it, when you think about airplanes, the first and last name that comes to mind is always Boeing, for better or for worse. That’s why it really shouldn’t be all that surprising that Boeing is innovating the aircraft industry again by creating a fuel-cell military airplane.

This plane will be the first to be completely powered by fuel cells with no internal combustion engine whatsoever. This means that it’s a little more environmentally friendly, and of course, that’s our first concern when it comes to military aircraft.

At this time, there are no plans for a commercial aircraft powered by fuel cells, but Boeing is saying that fuel cells should be well suited for small, possibly unmanned planes.
