I think I’ll have to take this news report with a huge bucket of salt, but according to a Cingular customer service manager, the Apple iPhone is scheduled to launch on June 11. The first red flag that this raises is that June 11th is a Monday, whereas Apple products have historically launched on Tuesdays. The second red flag is that Mr. Steve Jobs didn’t make the announcement, nor did any sort of high-ranking official at Cingular. It was just some (unnamed) guy that manages a call center.

One green flag, though, is that June 11th is also the opening day for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (affectionately known in many circles simply as WWDC), but it’s more likely that the Jobsian one will make the formal “Okay, you can buy it now” announcement on Tuesday. Either way, will one day make a difference in your iPhone-touting life? Will it sell out on the first day? Will they already ship a big batch to Cingular kiosks ahead of time?
