When it comes to grabbing people’s attention, sometimes breaking one record just isn’t enough. The Motion LE1700 slate tablet PC does a lot of things that previous tablet PCs never did. For example, it’s the first slate tablet to rock Core 2 Duo technology. It’s also the first to boast a “high-resolution SXGA+ LCD screen, providing unparalleled graphic clarity and detail.” And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Powered by Windows Vista, the LE1700 from Motion Computing is also the first slate tablet PC “to enable Windows Aero Glass,” because what’s the point of Vista without those cool Aero effects? Capping it all off is the exclusive WriteTouch interface for dual-mode writing and touch input, integrated WiFi, Bluetooth, CDMA/EV-DO mobile broadband, up to 4 gigs of 667MHz RAM, and enhanced data security. Even the biometric fingerprint reader can be used like a mouse.

Prices start at $2,199 for a Core 2 Duo version, whereas Core Solo offerings start at $1,999.
