Let’s see here. Slim form factor? Check. Clamshell design? Check. Solar panels up the wazoo? Check. Wait a minute…

Yes, solar panels. Unlike every other phone on the market, the HTW S116 Solar Mobile Phone does not need to be tethered a wall outlet or a car’s accessory jack. Instead, it can draw power from the sun rays, “or if you’re really in pinch, the light from 5 burning candles will suffice.” It takes about 40 minutes of sun exposure to get 20 to 25 minutes of talk time.

The rest of the specs are pretty standard fare with a QVGA display, 1.3 megapixel camera, RAZR-like appearance, and external memory card slot. HTW claims that they will have the solar-powered S116 ready for the Chinese market next month.
