Medical aids are getting more and more sophisticated all the time. Such is the case with the Bluetooth-enabled Band-aid, which could give medical personnel all kinds of instant and important information about injured people who may or may not be coherent enough to voice that information on their own. The info that can be ready for instant communication are blood type, drug allergies, and even the level of critical injury.

Among the suite of other medical devices are a capsule that monitor a patient’s blood sugar level, a personal tag that sends an emergency SMS to a designated number, and a paramedic pad, used to correlate all of the medical data.

All of this is high concept and in various stages of development. It’s all very practical, though, and we see no reason why we won’t be seeing these devices in the near future.
