Red BlackBerry Pearl on the Way to Cingular

I don’t think it has anything to do with Bono’s RED project, but that’s not stopping Research in Motion from cashing in on this trend of brightly colored electronics. Cingular subscribers will soon have another option when it comes to their mobile email needs because a red BlackBerry Pearl is apparently in the works. It’s pretty bold, as you can see from this mockup, but we’re hearing that the actual product will be a much deeper, darker shade than that which is depicted here.

Production on the red Pearl has already begun, so we’re expecting it to pop up in kiosks all around the nation as early as next month. Whether there will be a premium on this vividly-painted unit remains to be seen.
