Asustek to Deliver LED Backlit Notebook

The LED backlit computer is coming, just not from Cupertino.
Although many industry observers thought that Apple would get there first, Asustek is the one who will be unveiling their CCFL-less notebook on March 7.
That LED will mean less power use and longer battery life, since the traditional Cold Cathode Flourescent Tube won’t be in there at all.
Other than that, we don’t know a whole lot more. We do know that the LCD, including backlight, will be just 5mm thick. Like you, we await more details.
