While I like the idea of a UMPC, most of them don’t provide the most user friendly experience because on-screen keyboards can be a little clunky to use. The Gigabyte U60 features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard so that text entry is an absolute breeze, and it’ll be making its official debut at CeBit 2007 later this month.

Under the hood, the Gigabyte U60 packs a Via C7-M mobile processor, your choice of a 20GB or 30GB hard drive (both 1.8-inchers), integrated 802.11b/g WiFi, a pair of USB ports, and a good-sized 6.5-inch color screen. The SD/MMC memory card slot will also come in handy, I’m sure.
