BlackBerry 8820 to Get WiFi But No Camera

Disappointed that the QWERTY-licous BlackBerry 8800 is shipping without a WiFi radio? Chin up, because its 8820 cousin will have WLAN! The Boy Genius came across the device.xml file that will accompany OS on the Cingular-branded handset. As you can see in the image to the right, it quite clearly designates WLAN capabilities.

It’s not a standalone WiFi radio, as the 8820 (or perhaps the Cingular-branded 8800c) will come equipped with a GPRS/WLAN radio stack. This is the first time we’ve seen something like this in a BlackBerry. On the downside, there’s still no mention of a camera, not even a VGA one, so anyone hoping to snap a pic with their newest CrackBerry is still out of luck.
