Tesla is moving straight ahead with more models of their innovative electric car. To go along with the white-hot Roadster, the new company will be plying their trade as well with an electric sedan, with a four-door five-person capacity and rear-wheel drive power built on the Roadster’s drive train.
The car is to be called Whitestar and will be made at a factory in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tesla’s first U.S. assembly plant. Pricing is supposed to be about US$49,000, which is a bit less money than the Roadster for a good bit more parts and labor. Sources differ on just how heavy that pricetag will be in the end. Other figures, such as 0-60 mph in 6 seconds and 110mpg, are informed speculation.
