Oh, Samsung and your “ultra” monikers. The F700 is an “Ultra Smart” cell phone that seems to have borrowed a few styling cues from the people at Apple, as well as a couple of elements from our friends at HTC. When you have the F700 in its closed position, it will “bear an uncanny resemblance to the iPhone” complete with the full touchscreen interface on its 2.78-inch color display (with “Drag and Drop”). Slide open the QWERTY keyboard and you’re starting to look like an HTC smartphone.

There is one fairly substantial upgrade to be enjoyed on the Samsung F700, however, and it is the fact that the camera is 5 megapixels, a quantum leap above and beyond the 2 megapixel shooter found on the iPhone. It’s even got auto focus to boot, as well as HSDPA speeds of up to 7.2Mbps.

No word on price, but this sounds like quite the formidable competitor, not just for Apple, but for every smartphone-maker out there.
