After you lay your hands on the new Whirlpool “centralpark” Connection refrigerator, you won’t want to leave the kitchen. It’s got just about every entertainment medium bursting out of the on-board color display. Scheduled to hit department stores near you in the fall of this year, this unique unit comes with an “interchangeable interface that allows you to plug in an MP3 player, digital photo album, or a DVD/CD player.” They even say that it’s perfectly compatible with your favorite satellite radio receiver.

But wait, there’s more to the picture, so to speak, than just entertainment. The “centralpark” Connection will also keep you connected with the world around you, thanks to an interactive message board, a Web tablet, or a family calendar “all in a central location.” And of course, the whole thing is wrapped up in trendy stainless steel. Sleek, smooth, and thoroughly entertaining. I don’t know if I can’t stand the heat, but I’m certainly not getting out of the kitchen.
