Vodafone to launch mobile video portal, reward most-viewed

Think of it as YouTube for your phone, with a Google twist.

Vodafone is poised to launch a video upload-and-view service that will allow customers who have camera-enabled mobiles to upload MMS or WAP videos the Vodafone Live portal, for viewing by one and all. The most-watched videos will earn their creators actual cash as well, as Vodafone rewards the videos with the most downloads in a given time period.

You don’t have to have a mobile to download those videos, of course. A PC works just as well. An enhanced search function will accompany the online presence.
