Samsung LCD first to show both sides

Talk about design independence. Samsung has gone and done it up royally with this LCD, coming out with a double-sided screen that can show different things on either side. If you’re thinking that you haven’t seen anything like this before, you’re right.

The twin screens share a backlight but that’s it. Unlike current LCDs, which can show the front and back of an image, this screen allows a back picture that’s totally different from the front, and vice versa. The whole thing is a slim 2.6 mm, with brightness levels at 250 nits for the front and 100 for the back.

We’ll start to see these things in heavy numbers by mid-year.
